Not a fan, of either the book or the narration. Ray Porter's version of the cold-blooded military badass protagonist sounded more like a high-school aged loud mouth, and his British accents were all over the map and very distracting. The book itself came across as a thinly disguised movie pitch. For a straight-to-video movie. Cliche after cliche: every female character a sexpot, the hero hyper-competent, a world-threatening crisis that only the hero can handle, mysterious agencies that apparently have unlimited power. It's not that I don't like genre fiction because I do. But this is just lazy.

I'll start with the cons on this book and then I'll move on to the pros. The cons to me are amateur mistakes that I didn't expect to find with this book. One mistake being that the author tried so hard to make the main character out to be some bad ass. The problem with this theory of course is that it becomes very unrealistic whenever the main character is Unstoppable. I think this book should have shown some flaws with the main character that he was trying to overcome which would have added depth to the story instead of an unrealistic aspect. The second big problem that caught my attention is the inaccuracy with Firearms. At one point the book even reads that the terrorists were carrying AK-47 rifles customized to accept M16 magazines in 7.62 caliber. This is a problem because AK-47 is actually 7.62 caliber from Factory and if it was modified to the M16 "AR15" it would actually be using the 5.56 NATO cartridge. These little mistakes annoyed me greatly and makes it hard for me to concentrate. However I still give the book A 5 star review simply because although those flaws are beaming and hard to overcome the book itself kept you on the edge of your seat and revealed a hard to follow story line but in a good way. It kept it interesting and keeps you wondering exactly what was going on. There was a wonderful twist at the end of the book that gets your attention and leaves you applauding. It's definitely worth the read and is one of my favorite books of this genre. Just don't pay to close of attention to the firearm details.
